It's hard not to make everything personal

You notice it in the small things. A cloudy day starts and your mood drops right with it, as if the sky specifically decided to ruin your day. Someone cuts you off in traffic and you immediately think:

  • Are you kidding me?

Rain doesn’t pick anyone out. The driver doesn’t know you (most of the time). The world isn’t organizing its events around your story. But still, we take everything as if it were aimed at us. As if the world revolved around our life.

Noticing it changes something. Not right away, but it does.
